E-Waste Education

Why we're doing this

At Echo, we believe schools have a powerful role to play in shaping a more sustainable future.

Our Schools E-Week programme is our way of giving schools the opportunity to connect with their families and wider community in a meaningful, values-based way.

It helps raise awareness of responsible recycling across Tāmaki Makaurau, while sparking important conversations at school and at home.
Inspiring Future Changemakers
Echo's E-Week is a fun, educational programme that helps schools, students, and whānau take action for the environment.

Over one week, year 7 & 8 students learn about e-waste, recycling, and caring for our planet through ready-to-use activities and resources. Simultaneously, schools collect unwanted tech like phones, laptops, and cords, preventing harmful waste from ending up in landfill.

Echo makes it simple with free bins, posters, teaching materials, and optional guest speakers. The week ends with a community E-Day event, run by Echo, where families and the local community can recycle even more e-waste together, turning learning into real impact.

Check out how we’re empowering students to take action on e-waste and inspiring the generation of environmental leaders.
